Ko Samui

We tendered into Ko Samui today and walked around the town before hiring a taxi to take us to the giant Buda on the other side of the island. We got a good feel for the island and the "beach life" that is so attractive to tourists.  The giant sitting Buda was huge and sat on top of a big hill.  We set sail this afternoon for Singapore. Tomorrow is a sea day and we arrive early Sunday morning. We have an extra day in Singapore before our flight that night.  Jim and Cathy fly out Monday morning.

The village in Ko Samui was a typical Thai village, not very attractive

There were street vendors everywhere

The local beach right in town

On our way around the island we saw lots of life in this resort island

Gates to one of the high end resort complexes

The giant sitting Buda was a very imposing figure

We stopped at one of the beautiful local beaches on the way home.
While Jim went for a swim, Charlotte, Cathy and I sat and had a cool drink
